Cooking Pastured Sausage On the Grill or In the Kitchen

Brian Sapp

The significant difference between commodity sausage and pastured sausage comes down to the way the animals are raised, as well as the processing method of the farm. Our farm offers a range of sausages from six different species. Our sausages are slightly leaner, better seasoned, and made from higher-quality cuts than the average sausage you may find in the grocery store.

White Oak Pastures Team

We may be planning on spending this Cinco de Mayo at home—but we will be celebrating with a feast. We never need a reason to eat tacos, but we’ll always take one.

The Strong Sistas' Full Chicken Bone Broth

Sarah Armstrong

Bone broth provides an abundance of vitamins and minerals. Plus ‘wiggly jiggly’ bone broth is a great source of collagen. You can learn about the benefits of bone broth in our recent article on White Oak Pastures' blog. But, not all bone broths are equal. The items you use to make your bone broth (from the source of the bones to the other ‘off-cuts’ added) will make a difference in the nutrient composition and amount of ‘jiggle’ that results. Below you’ll find our favorite recipe for creating the ultimate, great-tasting, nutrient-dense, “wiggly jiggly” bone broth.

Creamy Buffalo Chicken Dip

Corinne Kocher

Need an appetizer that's perfect for a casual party, or The Big Game? Buffalo Chicken Dip combines hot wing flavor with a rich and creamy dip. Made with White Oak Pastures boneless, skinless pasture-raised chicken breasts, this dip is easy to make and seriously delicious.

A warning, from our personal experience: although this dip is easy to make ahead of time, it takes some serious self control to not eat it all... before the game even starts!

Easy Party Chicken Wings

Corinne Kocher

You don't need to get complicated with chicken wings—all it takes is a few good ingredients and an overnight marinade. These sweet and spicy wings are baked in the oven until nice and crispy. Adjustable recipe with garlic powder to make the wings mild, or cayenne powder to add more of a kick!

Slow-Roasted Whole Guinea Hen

Corinne Kocher

White Oak Pastures’ guineas live unconfined on pasture, hunting, pecking, scratching, and dust bathing. This leads to stronger, healthier, and, in our opinion, tastier birds. It also means these birds use their muscles, which should be taken into consideration when cooking a pasture raised animal. Applying some of the same principles for preparing grassfed beef, such as marinating or seasoning one to two days in advance, can help tenderize those more active muscle fibers.

Buffalo Ranch Party Wings

White Oak Pastures Team
This recipe for pasture-raised chicken wings in a spicy buffalo ranch sauce comes to us from Justin Beggs, who manages our online order fulfillment center at White Oak Pastures. A resident of downtown Bluffton, Georgia, Justin has cooked his famous wing recipe for all our White Oak Pastures friends and visitors. We take wings seriously down here, and Justin's recipe paired with our pastured chicken wings is the perfect combination.
