Located above Atlanta in Suwanee, GA is a locally owned and operated business called Cultured Traditions. Tanya and Charles Sharp bring their Russian tradition to the South with their variety of fermented foods.

Historically, when growing fresh foods was not possible, people learned how to naturally ferment foods to preserve them for storage and use during the winter months. Over time, the health benefits became obvious, and have since been proven to be even more significant. For this reason, consuming fermented foods strictly for their health benefits is quite common.

Cultured Traditions prides itself in making the highest quality products from the finest raw, organic ingredients (i.e. - Turmeric, Himalayan pink salt, and Ginger to name a few) without using whey or other starters. One such product sometimes called the ‘Champagne of Kombucha’ boasts this claim because of its superior taste and ingredients that are used.

What might this product be you ask? A slightly sweet and tangy beverage called Jun. Though most people mistake Jun for Kombucha, Jun is unlike it in that it uses green tea and honey instead of black tea and white sugar. Like Kombucha, Jun is considered a form of probiotic because of the presence of beneficial bacteria known as SCOBY (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast) that is used in the brewing process. Though the historic origins of Jun are debatable, most have agreed that this slightly sweet drink has become a new favorite.

Another of the many items Cultured Traditions offers is different varieties of sauerkraut. All of the sauerkrauts are 100% and loaded with probiotics and enzymes and are never heated. The consumption of sauerkraut can be traced back for thousands of years throughout Europe. This fermented delicacy is full of vitamin C and boosts natural flora in digestive health.

Cultured Traditions’ goal is to reintroduce people to the wonderful world of naturally fermented foods, and the marvelous health benefits they provide. We love the health benefits that these products have. We always have a selection of the different products at our general store.
