Bubba Jackson is our Loading Dock Manager. White Oak Pastures ships wholesale and retail to the entire lower 48 states. We have a demanding wholesale schedule and daily retail coordination with FedEx and UPS. As Loading Dock Manager, Bubba is responsible for making sure all the White Oak Pastures product reaches the correct destination.  Bubba also facilitates communications between our Cutting Room and our shipping schedules, as well as coordinates between our Processing Plants and our Internet Fulfillment Center. The Loading Dock is the busy exit point of our product and Bubba brings his boundless enthusiasm to work every day to tackle the challenge. “Getting fifty people to all do one thing is not the easiest task,” Bubba explains. Bubba takes his job extremely seriously, and works long hours to make sure the the process goes smoothly. “Sometimes I’m up at night worrying about everything. That’s a lot of money sitting here. It’ll be 3:00 AM and I’ll be worrying about the trailer temperature,” Bubba admits. “Sometimes it feels like I live here, but I love the people I work with”.

How did you get into the field you work in now?

I actually started in the Cutting Room where I worked for about two years. Two guys on the Loading Dock found other jobs and I was asked if I wanted to take on the responsibility. One thing I have learned is never tell your boss no. That’s how I landed on the dock.

What is the most satisfying part of your job?

The most satisfying part to me would have to be when I clock out at the end of the day and look back to see that I killed it all once again.

What is the biggest challenge you face on at your job?

Making sure all of the orders are correct before we send them on the road!

What has been your proudest moment since working here?

My proudest moment would have to be when I became a manager. I started here wanting to bust my ass and show everybody that hard work pays off and that’s exactly what I did.

What is your favorite food in the dining Pavilion?

The lasagna no doubt!

If you could trade roles with someone on the farm for a day, who would it be and why?

Honestly I wouldn’t want to trade with anybody! I love my job.

Choose one word to describe White Oak Pastures.

Family.

What’s the best, and worst, part of living in this part of Georgia?

The best part would be how warm it is almost all year. I love the hot weather. The worst would have to be the big ass mosquitoes! They are the size of drones.

What is your favorite meal to cook at home (with White Oak Pastures products)?

There is nothing better than the rabbit! I haven’t perfected it yet but the women in my family have.

What’s your favorite hobby outside of work?

I love anything on the water. I grew up on the Chattahoochee River so I love anything around the water- paddle boarding, canoeing, tubing, four wheeling.
