New Farm Store Items: Local, Good Food Partners

White Oak Pastures is known for meat, for good reason - our farm is centered around using animals and their impact on pasture to regenerate land. Our grassfed beef and pasture-raised poultry, heritage pork, and other proteins are the backbone of our farm, and our business.

But while we are proud of the products we offer, we also always think about how our customers are going to eat them. More specifically, sometimes we think about breakfast: if we’re going to offer baconeggs, and sausage from White Oak Pastures, wouldn’t it be nice to round out breakfast with something like locally ground biscuit mix and jelly?

That’s why we’ve started carrying some new items in our Farm Store - items that complement what we’re producing on the farm, from producers who share some of our same values.

Flavor of Georgia Finalist for Meat and Seafood Category

Our Beecon Grind placed in the top 3 finalists in the Flavor of Georgia 2018 Meat & Seafood category. 

White Oak Pastures’ Grassfed Beecon Grind was one of the three finalists out of twelve competing in the Meat and Seafood category in the University of Georgia’s 2018 Flavor of Georgia Contest. The final round was held in Atlanta where Georgia Commissioner of Agriculture, Gary Black, designated March 20 as Flavor of Georgia Day. Judges evaluated entries in select categories based on their taste, commercial appeal, innovation, market potential, and Georgia theme.

Please tell us a little about the history of your business and what you do?

Established in 2012, Fresh Harvest provides home and office deliveries of local organic produce, meat, eggs, milk, and more throughout Greater Atlanta. Over the past few years, we've also developed our own garden space in Clarkston, GA--hosting community dinners, cooking demos, and gardening classes.
